Teng Hoi Conservation Organization:

Teng Hoi Conservation Organization was started in October 2004 when we were awarded charitable status by the Hong Kong government.  Our initial focus was to develop a technology that listens for the sounds of explosions underwater.  You can follow this link if you want to see what we’ve been doing in Hong Kong.

OK, so we do some technical stuff.  But technology is only part of our work: we also have to generate some positive thinking and for that we need to take our message to people.  We deliver the message with the help of partner schools and colleges, and teaming up with artists, actors, musicians amongst others.  We want to make our message positive and build on one of the great successes of human society: the arts.  With the help of such artists we can make the process of conveying our message enjoyable and positive.  Click here to bring up the Education and Projects sidebar and see our vision of education.

Seas and oceans define boundaries between different countries but the issues facing humanity are truly international.  Over the last few years, Teng Hoi has been working hard to develop relations overseas.  Check out the links section to see our contacts with Malaysian authorities and the UNEP amongst others.

Finally, the media have been helping us to get a very worthwhile message out.  Check out the News and Links sidebar to see what they said.  The news reported in March 2007 however is a little out of date.  In collaboration with WWF, we are now taking some more disturbing news to the government of Hong Kong about the prevalence of fish bombing.  We’ll keep you up to date with progress!
